Students can use this content pack to recreate the key scenes from the novel The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan, the first story in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. The novel tells the story of young Percy and his friends at a camp for children of Greek gods. They are tasked with returning Zeus's stolen lightning bolt, a situation which threatens war on Mount Olympus. They travel across the country, clashing with the likes of mythological creatures along the way. Additional exercises could include identifying the internal and external conflicts, analyzing character traits, describing mood and tone, and defining key vocabulary.
