M.C. Higgins, the Great

Virginia Hamilton's Newbery Medal-winning novel M.C. Higgins, the Great, is the story of a young black boy living in the Appalachian Mountains of Kentucky. M.C. must reconcile his family's future with its past, as waste from strip-mining threatens the land once settled by an ancestor fleeing slavery. With this content pack, students will be able to recreate its key scenes.
